- Go to ACT.org.
- Click “Sign In” at the top right hand corner of the page.
- Scroll down a little, and click on “US ACT Testing & Scores.”
- If you have NOT made an ACT account before, click “Create US Account.”
- Fill out the personal information, as requested.
- When asked about your high school code, enter the following: 261 - 915.
- Fill out the personal information, as requested.
- If you have made an ACT account before, sign into your account.
- If you can’t remember your login information, use the “Forgot User ID” and/or “Forgot Password” links to reset your account.
- If neither of those options work, you will need to call ACT (319-337-1270) to reset your account.

- Once you have created your account or logged in, Click “Register Now!” or “Register to Test.”
- Confirm your personal information is correct.
- Complete your personal profile.
- SKIP THE INTEREST INVENTORY. Just scroll to the bottom of the page, and click “Continue.”
- Complete the “Your Test Selection” section.
- You are testing “in the United States.”
- Choose “I am registering myself” option, and/or indicate whether a staff member is helping you.
- MAKE SURE YOUR TEST DATE IS CORRECT.
- Choose your test option. You should take the ACT (No Writing), unless you know your colleges requires writing, which is very rare.
- When showed example acceptable photos, click “Continue.”
- When asked about what classes you have taken/your grades, just make your best guess from what you remember - it does NOT need to be answered perfectly.
- You will need to select a bubble for every line, even if you didn’t take and/or will not take a class.
- On the School Report page: You can send test scores to colleges for free. You will be able to search for colleges by name or location - you can also Google their school code. Include any college you might apply to.
- When asked about your general area of study and general occupation, if you don’t know, select undecided.
- Enter the test center code for Hancock: 221 - 630
- If you have NOT used your two fee waivers, visit the Guidance Office for a fee waiver.
- You can save your progress and come back to it with the fee waiver.
- Enter the waiver number in the “Voucher/Waiver Number” boxes, and click "Apply."
- If you have used your two fee waivers, you can use a credit card to pay for the exam.
- When asked to upload a photo, select UPLOAD LATER. You will upload using the ACT app.
- Download the, App ACT PHOTO, or visit the Guidance Office for help.
- Log into the app, using your Username and Password, and have someone take a picture of you (head and shoulders only, on a solid background).
- Select “View/Print Ticket” and print your ticket! You cannot take the test without your ticket. If you need help printing, visit the Guidance Office.
